Restaurant U svatého Jana Nepomuckého
is located in close proximity to Prague Castle, the National gallery and Archbishop’s Palace in Hradčanské square. The name of the restaurant was given in honour of the saint, who is worshipped all over the world as a patron saint of waters and whose remains are held near by in Saint Vitus´s Cathedral in Prague Castle.
The first references about the house, where the restaurant is, are from 1320.
Originally the building served as stables and coach depot of Prague Archbishopric, which is evident because of well-preserved original stone mangers and stone paving.
During its long history the restaurant has got to be liked by many important guests, e.g. by former Czech President Vaclav Havel, by the Pope Jan Pavel II.
You can also become part of this unique history and spend some time with delicious meals, Czech beer or of a glass of outstanding Moravian wine.
